Dear Beautiful Humans,
It's been a while since I've sent a letter out! But it's been on my heart, and today is my birthday so it felt like a perfect time to connect. It's also a new year, and you've probably heard, it's a big week of planetary shifts.
I've been in full-on provider mode for my children these last many months and years~working and mothering, growing and evolving, writing, visioning, and hopefully making little ripples of healing for our world in whatever ways I can.
This last year has felt so heavy in terms of the collective turmoil and unveiling. Everything going on in the world has deepened my prayers and devotional practices a hundred-fold. On a personal level, life has just been overwhelmingly busy on one hand, but also sweetly grounding on the other.
With this turn around the sun I've been reflecting on "legacy", dharma and purpose. These words can definitely be untangled, but at this stage of my life, all three have been at the forefront of my mind.
As one of my favorite Poet writess:
"We create legacy with our thoughts and dreams.”
― Joy Harjo, Crazy Brave
I haven't given up on my dream to create the Mother Medicine Community Portal! You might remember I was, and I still am, in the the process of launching a virtual-and in person community space for mothers and care-takers of life to come together and nourish, revitalize, vision and create the world we know is possible!
Mother Medicine Community is a space for mothers, (and people who center children and mothers), to tend to ourselves through movement, embodiment, creative writing, and cross-polination of world-bulding actions devoted to the visionary/deamy, as well as the very practical, every-day ways we're caring for ourselves and the future generations.
It's going to be nourishing and life-generating at every level. Making it happen is one of my birthday wishes to myself. It's also my wish for you to be a part of it if you feel called. I'll be laying the groundwork bit by bit until it's up and ready for landing.
Joy Harjo also writes:
“I could hear my abandoned dreams making a racket in my soul.”
I've been feeling that racket and wrestlessness in my soul lately, and part of the reason I'm putting one of my dreams back in writing and sharing it with you is because I believe in the power of doing that.
Anyway, for now, I'm showing up for the day-to-day, single-mom life full throddle, while trusting the timing of this dream to unfold when it's meant to be (but my goal is to launch this spring).
I'll also be sharing Movement Meditations every Saturday starting March 21st via zoom. Come tend to your body and spriti with me!
And you can also connect with me on my Substack
With Love and Gratitude,
Eden
